Standards & Code of Practice

The ACTDEC Code of Practice specifies what we look for from course providers, both organisational procedures and the course itself. Each standard is clarified through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Administrative / organisational

A1 Website: user-friendly, transparent and professional.
A2 Course descriptions: accurate pre-course information so candidates can choose well.
A3 Advertising, fees & discounts: UK advertising guidelines; candidates informed of rights and conditions before buying.
A4 Student admission: clear entry requirements and equal opportunities.
A5 Course administration: effective procedures and communication.
A6 Staffing: appropriately qualified tutors and continuing professional development.
A7 Organisational monitoring & quality assurance: feedback collected and acted upon.

Course provision

C1 Statement of purpose: a clearly defined, assessable goal.
C2 Course structure, content & length: designed in line with current best practice.
C3 Course process: students are nurtured and challenged with up-to-date distance pedagogy.
